  1. Is Electrolysis permanent and how does it work?
    Electrolysis is the gold standard for permanent hair removal. Electrolysis was first developed in 1875 by Dr. Charles Michel of St. Louis, Missouri to remove an ingrown eyelash. Because electrolysis is a permanent procedure, you will save hours and expense spent over a lifetime using temporary methods such as: waxing, shaving, bleaching, threading, depilatories, and believe it or not laser hair removal. The process of Electrolysis and how it works may be best explained by an electrologist during a " complimentary consultation ". But in simple terms a small amount of heat is applied to the hair papilla so that the hair can be easily removed.

    Unwanted hair can be removed from most body areas, please refer to the pictures for a full listing of treatment areas.   3. Is electrolysis painful?
    There is a slight sensation associated with the treatment that maybe interpreted as a slight heat or warming effect, but with today's technology, your comfort has been maximized.
  4. How long are electrolysis treatments?
    Electrolysis treatment times can vary from 15 to an hour or more, depending on previous hair removal methods, the area of treatment and the amount of hair you wish to remove.
  5. How long does Electrolysis take to achieve permanency?
    Each client has an electrolysis treatment program tailored to their particular need. Certain factors determine the number and length of treatment such as density of hairs, previous hair removal methods such as waxing or tweezing, skin sensitivity .The first visit will consist of a 15 minute consultation followed by a 15 minute electrolysis treatment.
  6. How many treatments are needed?
    Treatments will be more frequent at the beginning of working on an area until the area is cleared and less frequent later on. The hair ceases to return after several treatments on that particular hair.
  7. What causes hair growth?
    Hair growth is caused by several factors: hormonal changes at different stages of the life cycle such as teenage years, pregnancy and menopause. Other causes are genetic such as heredity, or reactions to medication as well as hormonal and glandular imbalances such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).
  8. Is electrolysis safe, effective and approved?
    Probe (needle) type electrolysis is the only safe permanent method of hair Removal recognized by the FDA. The FDA has recognized laser hair removal as only a hair reduction method.
